November 16, 2008 on 11:32 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsWell as you can see the web site is updated. I have decided to focus my efforts into providing help for those who are coming out to their families. I also provide help for those families. My pastoral focus is to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding in these situatons. This is also known as bridging. To find out more take a tour of the web site and its various sections.
Quick notes…
I have decided to seperate Side X from Side B.

Touring the Forums and Contemplating a Refining of the Definitions of Side A, B and X
May 5, 2008 on 12:51 pm | In Personal | No CommentsWhile it may look like little is happening on the web page or this ministry - nothing could be further from the truth. I have spent a considerable amount of time on the Gay Christian Network and Bridges-Across.org. I am contemplating changing the definitions of Side A and Side B to reflect what I have found on the Gay Christian Network. The original terms were / are used on Bridges-Across. But I find the definition of GCN (Gay Christian Network) to be more in line with a Christian world view. In essence GCN further defines Side A as belief in a committed gay relationship rather than multiple relationships. Side B is defined as being sexually celibate but other than that the door is left open for committed friendships. Additionally the GCN Side B seems to affirm lgbt identity rather than look on it as something that must be changed. This, to me, would seem to be a more healthy view than always being at war with one’s identity or attractions. The Ex-gay beliefs are not under GCN Side B but are put under something called Side X. Side X is distinct in that the individual is always trying to change their attractions / identity. While some have succeeded in this .. many others have failed and the failure and the dissappointment that comes with it can be hurtful, sometimes hurtful enough for the individual to give up their faith all together. So I am in prayer over this to see which way I should go in representing the various sides of this issue.

Things to think about
September 29, 2007 on 2:07 am | In Comments on Survey | No CommentsHello everyone,
As you may recall, I am a leader in the church who does not think the church has responded well to GLBT’s. This survey’s purpose was to help me to understand you better and the issues you face so that we can better respond to you. Here are some questions to get the discussion started….
1. It seems that alot of people could be open about their orientation @ work, @ school, @ place of worship, and with their families. Does this match your experience? … In other words, is this what you expected or are you surprised by this?
2. In the religion statistics there is a dramatic shift when you compare the religion people were raised in and the beliefs they have now. For example 73 people were raised in the Christian tradition but only 27 call themselves Christians today. What do you think caused this? …. Do you think it is a typical trend or do you think it is related specifically to the church’s response to people of different orientation?
3. One of the many answers I liked under defining tolerance was answer #12
”Accepting of other people’s difference. The mark of an intelligent person is the ability to entertain an idea or belief while holding on to their own opinion.”
Do you agree with this answer - which answers resonated with you?
Well hopefully this will get the discussion started. Feel free to coment on these questions or just jump in with your own ideas. The website is www.ccflag.com
