| Navigating the Forum Some of you may be unfamiliar with online forums .. This one is simple but has some unique features .. Below is a snap shot of the forum page. . |

Note that you cannot read or participate in the forum unless you are a
member. The purpose here is to protect our member’s privacy. To
become a member click on the Register button at the bottom left of the
forum page (link). Follow the onscreen instructions to register for the
forum. Note that you will need to choose a screen name for yourself which
can be totally unique from your real name. Once you have registered I
will send you an email asking you some questions about your interest in the
forum and in particular .. whether you are gay or straight so I can set up the
account to give you access to the appropriate private section(s) of the
forum. If you are uncomfortable with giving out that information I can give
you access to the member areas that are not private. This can always be
changed later.
Navigating the forum
Note: If you are unfamiliar with forums there is a place where you can
practice at the bottom of the forum called Test Posts.
The top section is titled “Getting to Know You”. Under this heading is a
place to introduce yourself. Simply click on where it says Introduce
Yourself .. click on: start a new thread and let us know a little about
yourself. (This is, of course, optional but it helps for everyone to get to
know who you are.)
The next section is labeled Parents Family and Friends… This section
has three categories .. Parents Family and Friends … Help someone I
love is gay … and Help someone I love is straight. . Parents Family and
Friends is visible and usable by all members.. Both of the other two
catagories will be visible to you as well, but your ability to read and post in
them is dependent on what answers you gave when you initially responded
to my registration email. This allows for private conversations.
The next section is labeled Going Deeper. We are here to understand
each other not argue our viewpoint. However some may want a place to
specifically better understand different points of view either in terms of
moral questions or biblical theological viewpoints. So this section is for
those who want to do that.
The next section is labeled ‘ General Discussions’. It has only one forum
in it called “Thoughts and Discussions". This is for general discussions ..
prayer requests .. praises or other things you may wish to talk about that do
not match a specific category.
