Many Christians may be asking...
‘What in the world are you doing?’ .... ‘Why are you doing this?’
Part of reaching out across the divide involves reaching out to lesbian, gay,
bisexual, and transgender persons. The other part of reaching across the
divide involves reaching back to the church and to my fellow Christian friends.
As I move forward in this I fully realize that for many who have never
explored this, what I am doing and the ideas I am sharing on this site may
seem foreign to your experience. Thus, I have put together this web page for
you.
Part of reaching out to our world involves a change of mindset and a change
of church model. On this page of my web site, and on the links to the left
that will be added over time, I will explore a missional model for the church
which is a change from our current attractional church model.
Any change of model requires a change of thinking. This is a challenge in and
of itself. As I explore this model with you please realize that I am not
pushing for an either/or model. In other words, I am not saying that we must
completely discard what we have now. I am presenting a model in addition to
what we already have. There are some people that will always need the
attractional model of church as a spiritual anchor. However the attractional
model in and of itself is not the best equipped for reaching out into our
communities. Thus we will explore the missional model.
So, fellow Christian friends, these pages are my trail of bread crumbs for
you to follow so that you can understand where I am coming from and what I
am doing. But I can't do all the work for you. If you want to follow what I am
doing you will need to take time to read these pages and check out the books
that I recommend. I pray God's richest blessings to you.
